Day +7
Submitted by Joe and April on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 1:31amTuesday, 12/18/12
Pretty big day here at Amplatz today...Addy and lots of other patients got to meet some of the Vikings players! Addy got to talk with them, take some pictures (when she wasn't hiding under a pillow or too busy being tickled:)), and she received an autographed Vikings license plate! Very cool and extremely sweet of them to visit all of these kids- I don't know if they truly understand the impact they have and the difference that they are capable of making in the spirit of a child, even if it's just for a day!
Addy was so energized today that she did not even want to take a nap! She is eating a little bit each day and working on drinking more water:)

Day +6
Submitted by Joe and April on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 1:30amMonday, 12/17/12
Addy was extremely excited that she got to spend the day playing with (great) grandma today:) They had a really good time together, played a lot, and colored! Grandma was ready for bed at the end of the day...Addy was pretty pooped out too! Mom and Dad were moving to a new, mold-free house for Addy and Cayden and they were very glad to hear that Addy was full of energy again today. She also had no icky tummy again and ate some macaroni-n-cheese:)

Day +5
Submitted by Joe and April on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 1:29amSunday, 12/16/12
Well, today was a little long... woke up to the drs telling me that one of Addy's med lines may have been "compromised"...
So, of course, that brings on a freak out since one naturally thinks they are going to have to replace her central line again!! Not the case thank goodness. The drs tell us that they suspect that one of her major important meds (cyclosporine-anti rejection med) was given in the wrong line. This means that when they draw blood to check the levels of the medicine the number they get is inaccurate and that can cause issue. Because the med is so important they do not want to have to suspend, delay, or cut back on her dose. To find her "true" level Addy had to get a finger poke:( I opted for this over a blood draw from her arm- she doesn't like it either way, but she handles the finger much better.

Day +4
Submitted by Joe and April on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 1:29amSaturday, 12/15/12
Addy played a bit today, but a little more low key. She is feeling a little tired today and not too hungry. The drs ordered a chest x-ray and did a nasal swab. They were checking for/concerned about possible pneumonia or influenza... She has had a progressive cough the last couple of days and has a slightly runny nose since this morning. Luckily both tests came back negative, lungs looked clear. They will continue to monitor but said it is possibly connected with a condition called mucusitis (common side effect of chemo) which, from my understanding, causes the mucous membranes to get sore, open up, "seep", and it makes you develop thicker mucus. It wants out of your body, so you cough and such more. The drs will watch it, but we are super glad there is no sign of pneumonia or influenza!

Day +3
Submitted by Joe and April on Wed, 12/19/2012 - 1:28amFriday, 12/14/12
And the energy continues!! Addy was up and out of bed for quite a bit of the day- playing and even dancing a little bit! Make my day:)
The only news from the drs today was that they had decided to increase her lasix (medicine to make her pee more)... They said it was nothing to be alarmed about at this point, but her input vs. output has been about +1 for a couple of days and they want to try and help her get dome of the fluid out of her body. We had noticed a little swelling in the feet and wrist area- they said this will hopefully help and they will continue to monitor.
BIG NEWS: Addy ate solid food today!!!!!!!!!!! She ate almost a whole piece of toast and quite a bit of chicken noodle soup:) Even better...she kept it down!! There was no icky tummy at all today- and she even held down one dose of her oral medication today:) We love seeing glimpses of our happy baby girl again- and you can tell she is feeling better too:)
